Membership is open to anyone interested in surface coatings and related industries.

The science of surface coatings is involved in a wide range of industries. Consequently, SCANZ draws its members from such diverse fields as paint, printing ink, pigments, adhesives, polymers, varnishes, solvents and resins. Raw material suppliers, manufacturers and end-users all participate.

SCANZ aims to foster interest in all areas of surface coatings, not just the technical aspects. In line with this policy, its current membership includes people from purchasing, marketing and sales, and scientists and technicians employed in the research and development, quality management and technical service fields.

SCANZ Activities:

These include educational and social functions — technical evenings, webinars, occasional tours, and social events for networking.

The Management Committee organises national functions such as the Annual Conference. The conference generally starts on a Wednesday and goes through to Friday afternoon. Currently, we hold the conference in the third week of May.

SCANZ promotes all activities on the SCANZ website, LinkedIn page, the Brushstrokes journal, and direct emails to members.

Membership Definitions

Membership is open to anyone who has a connection or interest in coatings and related industries and satisfies the Membership Sub-committee regarding their suitability as a member.

Application can be made below or alternatively email secretary@scanz.org.nz for an application form which can then be invoiced for payment.

Membership is for individuals only.

Membership period will be for 1 year on a financial cycle, all memberships will renew at the same time. (January 1st each year)

Memberships are not transferable.

Retired membership for people who have retired from the industry but still retain a keen interest to keep up to date with what is happening and wish to attend SCANZ activities.

Student membership if you are undertaking a relevant course at an approved institution.

Ordinary - $304.75 (NZD) Subscription period: 1 year, on: January 1st No automatically recurring payments Open to anyone 21 years of age or more who meets the criteria of membership.

Overseas - $149.50 (NZD) Subscription period: 1 year, on: January 1st No automatically recurring payments Open to anyone living outside of New Zealand who meetings the criteria for membership.

Retired - $57.50 (NZD) Subscription period: 1 year, on: January 1st No automatically recurring payments Open to anyone over 65 years of age who meet the criteria for membership.

Student - $57.50 (NZD) Subscription period: 1 year, on: January 1st No automatically recurring payments Open to anyone studying within the areas of surface coatings or related industries.
