Whakapapa Ski Area on the north-western slopes of Mt Ruapehu is New Zealand's largest ski area.
Happy Valley and Whakapapa Ski Fields will be open
Tickets are available from the retail store at the Whakapapa Ski Area, located at the top of the Bruce Road.
Alternatively take a scenic chairlift ride and enjoy the view from the Knoll Ridge Cafe

Mini Golf at Schnapps
Located in the National Park Village, Schnapps Bar has a great selection of food to accompany the panoramic views of the central plateau mountains. There is also an 18 hole Mini Golf course - Great fun for all ages and some of the best views in the world!

Tokaanu Thermal Springs
Located a few kilometres North-West of Turangi on SH41. Just off the main road in the tiny township of Tokaanu. Facilities available include; A large public chlorinated pool, heated to around 36°C – 38°C. Private natural mineral pools, temperature ranges between 39°C - 41°C. Free Thermal Bushwalk, 20 minute walk in native bush, where you can see steaming hot mineral pools, set in sinter basins and spluttering mud pots. Wheelchair Accessible.

Tongariro National Trout Centre
Located 4km south of Turangi, the Centre is not just a working trout hatchery; it also includes a river walk, a museum, a childrens fishing pond, an aquarium and a whio hardening facility.

Pihanga Art Gallery
Pihanga Art Gallery is a co-operative of local artists from the Turangi area. They showcase a wide range of beautiful art – paintings, pottery, jewellery, sculpture, felting, harakeke - flax fiber art, photography and woodturning.
