Title:
Polyurea - Extending the Life of Concrete and Steel Assets

Speaker:
Bryant Wells BSc, MBA, NACE Level 3, Technical Development Manager, LiquiMix Pty Ltd, Brisbane

Bryant Wells is a NACE Certified industrial chemist with 20 years experience in the coatings industry. Bryant is the Technical Development Manager for LiquiMix, a 25-year-old protective linings company based in Brisbane. Bryant has extensive knowledge of polyurea and its uses in the preservation of steel and concrete assets. He is an experienced coating inspector and product developer.

Bryant is a member of the ACA and former Queensland Secretary of the Surface Coatings Association of Australia (SCAA).

Fifteen years ago, polyurea was in high demand for concrete and steel protection. It promised permanent elasticity, impact/abrasion/chemical resistance, excellent adhesion and a gel-time of simply seconds. It was a great life-extender for valuable assets. However, some failures caused a fall from faith and a reversion back to traditional epoxies. This talk will address why some of those polyurea projects from 15 years ago are still performing today and how polyurea can provide outstanding life extension into the future.
